Hear from the Stakeholders!
Now that PowerObjects is several weeks into their cloud migration project, we checked in with a few of the project’s stakeholders to see what they’re most looking forward to. Here’s what they had to say:
Sarah Merten, Director of Customer Engagement, Global
One of the things I’m most excited about is having a worldwide, continuous view of what is going on within my team. Reference requests come in from all over the globe and we need to be able to see them all at once, see as changes are updated, and be able to communicate those notes around the world. Also, I’m really looking forward to the new functions built into D365 that will allow my team to enter customer notes more quickly and in a more organized manner, which will make our searches simpler and refined with more targeted data. Another way we’ll save time is by creating automatic update rules for pieces that we currently track manually in Dynamics. Not only will this save time, it will also allow for less human error.
Liz Pham, Product Owner of Internal Dynamics 365
I’m looking forward to the opportunity this gives us to clean up our on-premises Dynamics platform by moving only the most valuable features and processes to the cloud. I also think we’ll have happy end users because we’ll be able to use the new newest and best technology, which is one of our company’s core values. Happy end users make me happy, as well! Going online will also help us scale our growing organization. We’re no longer a small company and because of that, many of our previous processes have had to change. Dynamics 365 and the cloud are built for these challenges!
Jeff Wedren, Associate Vice President of Global Marketing
Before moving to the cloud, our team would find ourselves limited at times in our ability to take real-time advantage of Microsoft’s latest and greatest technology. This was because of the nuances of an on-premises solution. Considering the rapid speed at which innovation is happening, being in the cloud makes the most sense for modern businesses today. It will give us the ability to adapt new technology as it rolls out and that’s what’s really getting me excited about this project.
